Ok one second I’m working in photoshop cs and then next I try to make a brush stroke and nothing shows up. Then I notice that I can’t make any marks on the canvas at all. Niether pencil or brush will make a mark on the screen. I’ve made sure there are no wierd layer settings, I’m made sure the layers aren’t locked. I’ve made sure the transparency is normal. I’ve reset photshop’s pref file. I’ve shut down the entire computer and still nothing shows up.

EVERYTHING else in photoshop seems to work fine, I just can’t make a mark. The brush and pecil even show up in the history. But not of the screen.

Help me please

What color are you drawing with? Is it possible it’s the same color as the background? (Don’t laugh – I’ve done it myself!)

Take Dennis’ advice and also check that the layer you’re working on is the selected one. And what is the opacity of your brush?
Do you have a tablet connected whilst brushing with the mouse? Rob

Finally, check the mode in the layers palette (making sure it is normal and not multiply of something).

And check the mode on your brush too.

Ok, This was either a bug with my system or the program. It just seemed to start working again without me doing anything…..

Nevermind…..I found out the problem…Don’t leave the wacom mouse on the tablet and try to draw with another mouse…:)
