(new to board so bear with me) I have noticed that many photo illustrations in advertisement and print media are all in shades of blue, teal and varying grays. is this a certain style that has a name? i have been trying to duplicate it by making an action but have not been able to so far. an easy example is hannitys book "deliver from evil" or current newsweek article about harry potter. thanks in advance. nice board here.

Change Image\Mode to grayscale, then select Image\Mode\Duotone, you can then select up to four different colours and changes their curves to suit. Takes a little practice, but you will get those results. If you want to take this image and put it in with other colours, save this to RGB or LAB and then transfer to another image file.

the best (non destructive) is using a Hue/Sat adjustment layer. Check the colorize box, and play with the hue…
