When I open an image in Camera Raw (version 2.2) and make any correction, the correction(s) appear to become part of the original camera file. I would rather maintain the original file as originally shot. Is there a way to turn this feature off? The workaround seems to be to save the original files in a separate folder and work from copies. There must be a better way.

Thanks,

I don’t know that program…so this is general advise…use save as rather than save. Programs then give you a chance to save names or types of files.

Save, on the other hand….saves it with the same name and extension so it naturally overwrites what was there.
