Hi people, i’m designing a website in illustrator, Photoshop and IR in that order. Anyway I pretty new to this type of work flow, I first design the vector graphics in illo save as PSD then add guides and images etc. Then add slices in ImageReady.

My problem occurs at the final stage of the workflow >> using imageReady to add slices.

Basically I have slanted link buttons and I am having problems trying to slice the seperate buttons as the slice tool only seems to allow rectangular slices. Here a rough image of the anglend buttons:

Is there somethin I am missing? Do i need to be using an image Map or something?

Aaarggghhh HELP

Thanks
Lee

The slices can be only rectangles (or squares), because the images themselves must be rectangular. They can be no skewed or round or irregularly shaped.

yeah…

Figured it out >> just use the layer image map tool (polygon) that way you can select any shape you want and edit it as you choose and add rollover etc.
