Hi, unlike lasso tool or magnetic lasso tool where one can use spacebar to call up the hand and move the image to carry on lassoing, the line tool usage requires a mouse click, hold the mouse button down and drag the line until at the release point, the spacebarHand trick is inoperative during this, BUT as soon as you touch the window edge to scroll to the release point, WHOOOSH you get taken far beyond where you wanted to end the line, touch back to other side and WHOOSH, well beyond start point. I use the line tool a lot for creating perspective lines, vanishing lines etc in adding to and modifying scenes, road schemes etc as well as creating aircraft plans and profiles. I trace over plans etc and need to be zoomed in for accuracy.

The previous PC being 200Mhz 128MbRAM could not move an image that fast, and touching the edge saw just the right amount of scroll, going further into the edge increased the scroll rate, now this was clever, well thought out for users, a variable scroll depending on how far beyond the edge the cursor went, but this seems missing with Pshop7 in my new 3.3GHz 2Gb ram PC. Pshop needs to control this now that PCs are more powerful, else its impossible to use the tool and be zoomed in to lay the line accurately. I place many lines so to start rotating and moving each line is impractical.

Is there a solution to this problem ?

This doesn’t help your problem but in PSCS, it works as it should. At the edge it is slow and further out of the edge it speeds up.
