Using Photo Shop 7.01. We cannot update. Whenever we try it keeps saying "There was a problem with connecting to Adobe on line. Check your network setting in Internet control panel".

We are NOT on a network. This is a stand alone computer.

How can we fix this?

Don’t.
Set Never Check in prefs.
There’s nothing else to download. Never will be for 7.01.

Canceling out is the only thing you can do, short of connecting to the Internet and allowing Adobe to send you new updates. If you’re not on a network, have not used your modem to hook up to the Internet, you can’t update. You are stuck at your revision level.

You were using Adobe" Photoshop" 6 until at least last October. You apparently purchased Photoshop" 7.0 after Photoshop" CS was released. You should have had a free or cheap upgrade to CS available to you at that time. It seems that you didn’t take advantage of it. Did you ask about upgrading when you purchased 7.0?

r_,

how did you gleen that much information from their post?

From what I read here, they were talking about attempting to download the .01 update to PS7. I can’t see anywhere that they said *when* they bought PS7??

Click on the poster’s name, and go through the previous posts… "we" were running PS6 in late September, and "we" bumped-into PS7 in October.

I was just trying to make John Levine happier with me.

I have no problem with you. I don’t even know you.

It’s your attitude that bothers me.
