Hello all.
I’ve got a problem with Photoshop 6.0 I just can’t seem to get figured out. I am in a Windows 2000 environment, getting files from a file server running Windows 2000 Server. When we open a file in Photoshop off the server, modify it, and save it in most any format, we are not able to re-open the file.

When attempting to re-open the file in Photoshop, we get an error stating, "Could not open "<path to file>" because the file is locked. Use the ‘Properties’ command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file." When you view the permissions of the file, and click on the security tab, the name section is populated with several users with names like
S-1-5-21-606747145-1606980848-1060284298-1005. Once you delete all those users, you can open the file again.

This problem only manifests itself using Photoshop. We can open, close, modify, etc. files using Corel Draw 10, Truespace 5, Word, or any other program without any problems.

I’d appreciate anyone’s input on this problem.

Thanks!!
