I have lost the brush size display option whihc I’ve always used. For some reason PS (7) now defaults to precise. The standard one is there

One poster suggetsed I turn off the Caps key? What is that? Caps lock on the keyboard? If so, I’ve tried it and it has no effect. Same with Num Lock. Is this soemthing in prefernces or what?

Hepl please and apologies to experts for being dim

Usually this happens if you press the Caps Lock key, so that’s the first thing to check. If that doesn’t work, check if it was somehow changed in the preferences.

If your caps lock key is not engaged and you still get the precise cursor, try dumping your Prefs:

To restore all preferences to their default settings:

Do one of the following:

a.. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop or ImageReady. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.
b.. In Mac OS, open the Preferences folder in the System Folder (Mac OS
9.x) or Library folder (Mac OS X), and drag the Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings
folder to the Trash.
New Preferences files will be created the next time you start Photoshop or ImageReady

Yes, but as I asked before, where are the preferences stored so I can save my current settings and reinstall them after PS reverts to the default settings?
Thanks! . . . . patrick
