A while ago I got an offset-printed newsletter that was done in only 2 inks, (close to Cyan and Magenta, but I don’t think they were) that resulted in a psuedo full colour look.
Unfortunately I don’t have that sample any more but I would like to reproduce the effect.
Does anyone have any idea on how it’s done?

Cheers

There is a plugin called Powertone that gives that effect. Depending in the colors you use it can be fairly convincing or godawful. http://www.adobe.com/products/plugins/photoshop/powertone.ht ml

Hey thanks, Usenet to the rescue. That is the exact thing I was looking for.
Slight problem, it appears to have been discontinued and is not availiable from adove, or even available from the developer, creoScitex. Anyone know where I can get a copy?
