I’m quite new to Photoshop Elements (2.0) and I’m trying to add some cool effects to text, like drop shadows and bevels. I have a couple of questions:

1) Although I’ve found layer styles to my taste I can’t seem to find any adjustments for them. How do I for example decide how much drop-shadowing I want when there’s only "high" and "low" to choose from and I’d like something in between?

2) Is it possible to add more layer styles to Photoshop
elements 2?

I downloaded a trial version of Elements 2 some time ago, but it has since expired. I seem to remember that the layer styles were very similar to those of full blown Photoshop. Double-clicking on the layer should open the Layer Style panel where all the adjustments can be made. I don’t recall the choices being so limited. If not, you should at least be able to a drag the drop shadow to where you want it while the panel is still open.

You’re right!!
I found out that by double-clicking on that "f" in a circle logo in that layer I can indeed make some adjustments!
Thanks.

As for my second question: I did find some layer style files on various websites, textures and things like that which is nice, but I would really like more effects I can use on text
-especially bevels and shadows. Anyone know where I can find anything like that?
In the meantime I’ll experiment with the adjustments which you made me aware of 🙂

Does Elements have The sub-categories of Texture and Contour under Bevel and Emboss? Different contours and textures add a whole new dimension to a basic bevel. Visit the Adobe Studio Exchange
for free dowmloads too!

No. At least I can’t find anything.

Great site!
I’ve been spending the past 45 minutes downloading all sorts of stuff now. I just hope it actually works with Photoshop elements, because there was only a "Photoshop" category to be found.
