Hi. I encounter the same problem. Nikon raw pics, after processed in CS loose their exif data. I am not "saving for the web". Is there a way to retain the exif data?
Much obliged for any help on this.

What version of Photoshop are you using?

If you are using the Nikon-supplied plug-in to read your Nikon raw pics, you need to talk to Nikon and ask them to add the EXIF data when they import raw files

If you are using the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in to read your Nikon raw pics, you should get the recently released update to Adobe Camera Raw from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2460 which addresses this issue.
