Why is it that if I make a text layer on one image, at say size 4, and then make another text layer on another image at text size 4, the text may look WAY bigger on one image than on the other, even though both images are the same size?!!!
I made an action to put a copyright on all my photos, and the text is size
4. This works perfectly on all my images.
HOWEVER, when I try the same action on other images, that are the same size, but dont come from my camera, the resulting text looks really small!! I cant figure this one out.
If I drag the text layer from one of my images to one of the other images (even a whole new image), the text size looks the same, but the character size has now switched to 10.
Why does character size of 4 on one image look the same as character size 10 on another, even though the images are the same size? Is this some sort of glitch in CS2?

Because the images are different resolutions.

When you say "text size 4," that is meaningless. There are different ways to specify text size–in points or in pixels.

If you specify the text size in pixels, it will always be the same number of pixels high. if you specify in points, it will calculate the number of pixels based on the resolution of the image.

Thanks for the explanation. You know, I’ve been using Photoshop almost daily for 9 years, and there are still many features to learn! I need a bigger brain!
