I apologize for the semi-off-topicness, but there’s no general "Adobe" or "Creative Suite" newsgroup.

I recently purchased a copy of Creative Suite 2 Premium Education and am having a problem running the installer. Whether run via autoplay or manually, the installer asks me my language, has me agree to the License Agreement, and then presents me with the main menu. I select "Install the Adobe Creative Suite 2" and a window appears with the message "Adobe Creative Suite 2 Initializing, Please Wait…". The processor usage of "setup.exe" on my XP3200+ is around 10-12% for about three seconds, then the process terminates and the window disappears (and the disc spins down).

Do anyone have any hints as to what may be causing this? I installed CS1 about a month ago and uninstalled it about a week ago, if that may be relevant due to lingering files.

Thanks to all for any advice!

Oopsie! I neglected to mention my OS. It’s Windows XP Pro with SP2, the same which I installed CS1 on. The only change to Windows itself is that I installed the spyware scanner updated that was released a day or two ago.
