Acer Prisa 310S (SCSI) scanner, Windows 98SE PC, Photoshop 6.01, 512mb Ram, using MiraScan v342 drivers directly off BenQ (Acer) site. Photoshop works fine by itself, but as soon as I try to acquire twain driver for Acer scanner, Photoshop freezes and minimizes itself. I’ve taken out all other twain drivers out of the c:\windows\twain32 folder, as well as made certain all old scanner software packages were uninstalled. Restarted, and restarted again.
Scanner worked on similar PC, and different scanner (Umax) worked with Photoshop on this computer. SCSI cards on both machine are not OEM with scanner, but Adaptec cards. SCSI ID #’s are set the same on both PC’s.
It’s almost got to be a twain conflict, but not sure where else I need to look to fix conflict. I’d prefer not throwing out Photoshop preferences, but that may be next.
Any suggestions?
