How do I transfer my downloaded photo’s from ACD to Photoshop. When they are downloaded they go to ACD or another program but I want to correct in Photoshop. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

Amen to that sigh….

1>you mean you want to open a photo and see it in PS??? OR
2>you want to make a new file association so that every time you double click an image Photoshop will open it???
3> you want to move your photos to a new folder?

1> leave photos in whatever folder they are already in, open Photoshop program, FILE>open> look in the drop down box to navigate to the folder you keep the pictures. Photoshop has it own file browser too, look at upper right click the folder, find folder with your ACD pictures, double click to open in PS.

2> do not do this unless you know what you are doing
folder options in control panel change file association under file types.

3> Windows tutorial >how to work with files and folders. (find my files, select files, make new folders, cut and paste and move and copy files)

When you download your photos, they are not downloaded to a computer program; they are downloaded to your computer’s hard disk drive.

To open a photo that is on your computer’s hard disk in Photoshop, use the Open command from Photoshop’s File menu.

May be, Photoshop just might be a little bit hard for you to use?

Here is the information for Win ME. Probably about the same for other versions of windows. If this is too much for you, perhaps you should start with a simpler program than PS.

To change the program that opens a file

On the desktop, double-click My Computer.
Click the file that you want a different program to open. On the File menu, click Properties.
Click Change.
Click the name of the program that you want to open the file, or click Other to select a program that is not listed.

Notes:

This change affects all files that have the same file name extension as the file you selected. For example, if you change the program that opens a .bmp file, all .bmp files will open in the new program.

If you previously changed the program that opens a file and you want to change it again, click the file, click the File menu, and then point to Open With. A list appears containing all the programs that have been used to open this file. Click a program in the list, or click Choose Program to select a different program.
