I wanted to intertwine or weave my initials for wedding invitations. I can do the normal overlap with layer and then try to erase the overlap text, but that is taking way too long.

Does anyone have a tutorial for Photoshop CS on how to interwine text?

Thank you in advance, Chris

Yep. Bet it’s proving to be frustrating, too.

You’re using the wrong tool for the job. For something like that, you want Illustrator, not Photoshop.

I think Illustrator is better for this, it has more swash capitals and such. I don’t know the program though.

In PS I tried this:

make the first letter in black ( I downloaded a custom shape called initials from adobe exchange, very nice)
make a second layer with the next letter in red.
use luminosity or another blend mode so you see a color change in the overlap area.
use select color range, eyedropper over the new color.
on whichever layer you want to drop out use edit> clear change the red layer to black with image adjust hue/sat.
