OK, so I searched the Knowledgebase and the forum but found no reference to this issue, so I know that it is a very silly question and all you PS gurus are gonna bowl over with laughter, but…

How do I install an ".ACF" (Adobe Custom Filter) file into PS 7? Does it just go into the regular filter folder?

TIA!

Where are you getting this ACF file from?

Let me add another question about custom filters. These are the set of four that I hunted down from a thread here that included a type of color key where you could extract from background, a fade to black, fade to white, and a type of soft saturation. This is from memory as they are on my house computer where my copy of CS is located. Here I have to settle for Windows Paint. As I recall Filter Forge and not Filter Factory was used to make these for the Mac platform and they were without file extensions. They were listed on the source web page as freeware.

What do I name what and where do I put them to try them out?

I just finished a forum search for filter & plugin and didn’t see the thread. When I get to the house computer, I’ll check the readme/notes and see if the URL is in there.

Try Google Groups. Works better than Adobe’s forum search as well as other forum’s search engines.

Here is the information on them.

The bergdesign plug-ins……

The version 1.1 plug-ins were created with Filter Foundry by telegraphics, a compatible replacement for Adobe Filter Factory that works under Photoshop 3/4/5/6/6.5/7/CS on Power Mac (OS X, Classic, OS 9 and earlier), 68K Mac and Windows…..

Now to find out what to name them and where to put them.
