I want to relocate the common files located in C:\Documents and Settings\xx\Application Data\Adobe\FileBrowser to another drive partition. At this point I’ve got about 145 Mb in this directory and I’m about to add another 100,000 TIFFs to my image data base.

thanks.

Can you move the folder, and make a shortcut back to the original location? (Disclaimer: I have not tried this myself and cannot at the moment I think the worst that would happen is Photoshop would balk at the shortcut, at which point you just move the original folder back and all should be well.)

Photoshop will just ignore the shortcut and create a new folder

That’s too bad… I wonder if it’s more Photoshop or Windows’ fault here?

One of the (many) nice things I’ve found with OS X is that all applications will recognize an alias (or for the more technically savvy a simlink) as the actual folder. I moved 4+ GB of audio samples from my system drive to an auxilliary FW HD, created an alias back to the original location and it worked like a charm.
