Default foreground and Background Colors

Photoshop 7.0.1 Windows XP when I bring up pictures they have a green filter over them and when I click on the Default foreground and Background Colors short cut D which stays black and white, The color picker Foreground color box is Black and the Background color is Green and I can’t change the green to white. Then in the swathes Pallet I click on the arrow to the right and click on reset swatches, the replace current swatches with the default color and I click OK nothing happens, I am trying to set the Default Foreground to Black and the Background to white. I get no white, red, and yellow, blue on the swathes pallet just black and greens. When I use the short cut key Ctrl+Shifr+K Color Settings dialogue box it reads ( Settings: US. Press Defaults/working spaces/RGB: adobe RGB 1998/CMYK: US web coated swop v2 /Gray: dot gain 20 %/Spot: dot gain 20 %/Color management Policies: RGB: Preserve Embedded Profiles/CMYK: Preserve Embedded Profiles/Gray: Preserve Embedded Profiles), is this OK?
