Hi,

I just upgraded from PS7 to CS2 having tried the CS2 tryout version first. Before upgrading I uninstalled both PS7 and the tryout version.

However the Bridge didn’t install with CS2. I’ve tried to install it separately from the Bridge folder on the CD, but the installer gives me an error message saying that it has detected a newer version of Bridge already installed and it closes.

I’ve removed every piece of Adobe software I can find and tried reinstalling CS and the Bridge, but I get the same message.

Has anybody else had this problem? Does anyone know of a solution? I’m wondering if formatting the hard drive and reinstalling everything may be the only answer, but it does seem rather extreme.

Any words of wisdom gratefully received.

TIA,

Derek.

On the assumption you have a Windose maching. You may have some stuff in the registry that is telling the install program that there is an existing program.

Hi,

Yes, it’s WinXP. What you say makes sense. Think I’ll reinstall XP as I’m having some other probs anyway.

Many thanks,

Derek.

The newest version of spybot (1.4?)
http://www.spybot.info/en/mirrors/index.html has a somewhat useful reg cleaner.

EZclean
http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/files/EClea2_0.exe

is a bit stronger

regardless BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY before you play with the internals.
