Slightly OT:Standard or Wide Screen PC monitor?

I’m going to upgrade my 17" LCD PC monitor in the next few weeks, and I’m considering two models in particular. They are:

Eizo L768 19" monitor (1280 x 1024)

Acer AL2032wm 20" wide screen monitor (1680 x 1050) http://www.acer.co.uk/acereuro/page4.do?dau22.oid=9902&U serCtxParam=0&GroupCtxParam=0&dctx1=17&ctx1=UK&a mp;crc=4288051543

Would a 20" WS monitor offer more/better working space than say a standard 19" monitor? And what about gaming? The native resolution of the above Acer monitor is 1680 x 1050, so would games appear stretched horizontally, or would the display compensate for the game’s resolution? I would be mostly using it for serious apps though, such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

Keep both monitors, and use the left one for tools.

The Eizo is properly colour correctable and will give you the most accurate colour by a long way. If that’s what you need then buy the Eizo. Use the 17" you already have to play games on as the Eizo is useless for that. It’s a professional monitor and Eizo are more concerned with providing professional features, not games playing, hence the response time isn’t a priority.
