Can anyone offer an answer as to what these small registration like marks are in this image and why you would use them?

You will need to open the Tif in Photoshop and select a brush tool to activate them.

Dave,

I have edited your link – you had two "f’s" in ".tif"

What marks? None visible on the image you have posted

Couldn’t access the file, but we’re probably looking at sampling points made with the color sampler tool.

Should be saved with the file, though. Len, if you still have his file, you might check to see whether you have color samplers checked in the info palette flyout.

Could it be the "slice" boxes?

Can you turn it off with View -> Extras (if checked, uncheck it)?

Didn’t get the opportunity – it opened/viewed in QuickTime on my machine
