I have about 20 pictures of cars against a white wall. Above the cars, I would like to put my name, and then SAVE FOR WEB at 30% Quality.

Is this something I can do as a batch in Photoshop?

Thanks in advanced

Yes,

record an action and then batch process the files.

If you’ve not done this before, perhaps the following will help get you going. Once you do a few batch processes, you’ll get the hang of it.

Preparation:
* Create a destination folder (if you don’t have one already). Note: This is where the action will place the processed images under all circumstances. Save for Web is a bit peculiar in this regard.
* Open a test image.
* You might want to experiment a bit with the Text tool so you’ve got placement, font size, font type, etc. mapped out before recording the action. I usually choose the right justification option, so letters move to the left as I type them in the right-hand corner. Test opacity of this layer, too. If you want to apply effects to the text, e.g., bevel or shadow, you will need to "rasterize the layer" (right click on layer name + rasterize). Then you’ll be able to apply layer effects to your heart’s content.
* Delete the text layer when you’re finished experimenting so you’re ready to record the action.

Record new action (assign name)
* Choose Text tool.
* With the text tool active, click at the point where you want the text to begin. Type text, rasterize and apply effects if you like.
* File > Save for Web. DO NOT change the file name; do specify, however, the destination folder & quality options. OK to record the command.
* STOP recording
* Delete the test .jpg just created in the destination folder and close test image w/o saving.

Prep to batch process
* Populate the \source folder with the images you want processed (if they’re not already in a folder)

Batch process
* File > Automate > Batch. The action you just developed should be selected. * Source: Folder. Choose (browse to source folder)
* Destination: Folder. Choose (Pick a folder; any folder. It makes no difference which one. The destination folder is recorded in the command. it cannot be overridden in this dialog.)
* OK… and away you go.

Hope this gets you moving.
