Can someone please tell me how to have text go along a path. Example: If I draw a curvy line with the freeform pen tool, and I want the text to overlap the line and follow it. Then, I want to erase the path so it won’t show. Is it possible?

I’m using Photoshop 6.0.

There’s no way I’m aware of in version 6. I believe that text on a path was introduced for the first time in CS.

That’s correct, text on a path is new to Photoshop CS.

Is there another way I could get the text to maneuver the way I want it to?

One letter at a time.

If you do this a lot, I’d suggest upgrading.

Shari,

One option not mentioned is to use Illustrator, if you have that as well, as it does support creating text on a path. Then, you can import the Illustrator image into Photoshop. Or, if you have PaintShop Pro, it too supports text on a path. Otherwise, without upgrading to Photoshop CS, the only way I know to conveniently do this in earlier Photoshop versions is to use the now-discontinued PhotoGraphics plug-in from Extensis. I’d expect that to be difficult to find.

I have Paintshop Pro, so I’ll try doing it there, then going back in Photoshop. Thank you.
