My old scanner died and for some reason there was no uninstall file. By various means I purged the system of the files for the scanner.

But despite a search of the registry etc. I am still getting references to the old scanner when I import my new scanner facility.

Ideas please

Look for a folder called ‘Twain 32’, in the Windows folder if you’re running Win. Within that should be another folder corresponding to the old scanner – move it somwhere else before deleting, to be sure you have the right one. The Import command relies on the Twain drivers, and they are often left in place by uninstalls.

Good luck,

– Al.

Assuming you’re using windows try start>settings>control panel>add/remove hardware It may be successful in purging all the remaining bits and pieces.
