Jeff: Try copying the contents of the CD to the hard drive and install from there.

I tried that and it didn’t work. I’m having the same problem. The install setup bar gets to 99% and stops. I’ve tried to install at least 6 times from both the CD and also by copying the contents of the CD to the hard drive and attempting, in vain, installation.

empty out your temp directories.
c:\temp
c:\documents & settings\user\application data\temp
