I don’t even know what "limey" is suppose to be. Is it anything like being
lemony or orangey or maybe pineappley?

Yes, exactly that. Lime/lemons were used to ward off scurvy on long sea voyages. 🙂

You see, Mike, here’s the trouble right here, some people just can’t resist to feed the trolls and crosspost it, while they’re at it.

If I, who is at the receiving end of Flippy’s undying adoration, can manage to happily ignore him, why can’t the rest of you? Or, if you really can’t, at least stop crossposting, I am sure it would make a lot of people who couldn’t care less happy.

(Yes, I am crossposting, too, since I don’t know where Tara comes from.)

It’s possible we’re dealing with a troll here. Making the assumption that it’s not I state the following.

Eva has always downplayed the troll(s).

She has been telling everyone to ignore them.

I admire her for the way she has dealt with this situation and wish everyone, and this includes the REAL problem, the "Troll Responders" (as I pointed out in an earlier post) would do likewise.

If I were in London (and I’d love to be) I’d buy her a pint! —

Since something seems to be sucking the humour from the usenet aether, I assume this is being x-posted from a.g.p. On a totally side note, why oh why did Adobe ever get rid of a/b editing in Premiere Pro? But I digress.

Since the link I posted is actually on-topic for all three froups except for
a.t.s-sg1 (who I’m assuming have a sense of humour, so it’s unlikely, though
I could be wrong) I’m leaving the newsgroup header as it is.

Click on the link. It’s a fine piece of photoshopping. You won’t regret it unless you’re a Catholic, in which case a couple of Hail Marys should take care of it in the event that it provokes a chuckle. Here it is again:

My bad. I didn’t check the xposts. Sorry to a.f.t-s, a.t.r-w, and a.g.p.

I actually am quite comfortable without a/b editing in PPro. It is easier though to think (at least for me) in terms of transitions with a/b, but I’m managing.

That’s ok, you’re forgiven 🙂

(btw, I’m posting this from a.f.t-s, an
almost-dead-but-you-never-know-if-it-will-resurrect-itself froup. We have a reputation as a troll group which is undeserved. It’s more the kind of froup Oscar Wilde would have hung out in if he were alive today).

Which is where I’m at as well. But why should we have to just deal with it, when it’s so clunky to use that we have to "manage" with it?

I think it was a stupid move on the part of Adobe. The last remaining semi-professional a/b editing suite on the market, and they decide it’s not "professional" enough. How hard would it have been to include an a/b editing plugin? I’m sure they lost a tonne of customers over that one. The real reason is the snob factor: "real" video editing professionals use single-track, which is counter-intuitive and a pain in the butt in terms of getting the work done quickly and accurately, but it does enable one to say "oh, a/b editing…pooh pooh, old chap, only amateurs use *that*".

So far as I know there’s no alternative either. I’ve yet to check out Vegas video, but have tried Liquid, Edius, Ulead…nup, all single-track.

I guess we’re stuck with it until some bright spark figures out that a/b editing is a better system, and comes up with an alternative.
