Hello all,

I am stuck and I am baffled by the Color Picker’s "Custom" screen with all the "Book" choices. I simply want to revert the Color Picker to its default, which I don’t know. I thought it was one of the Pantones but I can’t seem to get it to look the way it did prior to my uneducated muddling.

I’ve googled this with no success.
I’d appreciate a point in the right direction.

Thanks.

Once you’re in the custom screen, click on the "picker" button to return to the regular screen.

Yes, but that just brings me back to the picker. The gradient square as well as the slider are all funny. The patterns are completely different as are the color sets.

You mean the default in the custom picker screen? it’s pantone solid coated.

Ok, but it still looks weird. Here’s the thing: it used to have the entire gradient of colors in the vertical slide-bar, and the square was used to pick a level within that color.

Now, it is the opposite: the square is the entire color spectrum, and the slider-bar displays a gradient within that color.

The truth is, it really doesn’t matter too much, but I’m fanatical about consistency and I am just wondering why my original configuration is gone just for having clicked "Custom" and played around. I’d like to just see it the way it used to look.

Is this a preference that gets switched when you go to Custom, and Adobe just didn’t think to switch it back?

One last thought – perhaps you have the light-dark slider selected rather than HSB – select the H on the left and see if that fixes it.

Bless You!
And as for me, a great big "D’OH!"
I guess it’s the little things you miss sometimes.
Thanks very much.
