My computer bios/motherboard crashed and I had to start from scratch and install a new hardrive. We still have the old hard drive that acts as a slave now and need to install Photoshop on the new harddrive, but want the old actions/styles.

How can I import all of our saved styles etc? Years of hard work down the drain or a solution? Please help?

Thanks!

Install Photoshop from the CD onto your new hard drive. It will create a set of directories, the heirarchy of which should be similar to most users if you just let the installer do its thing. Within the main Photoshop folder there will be a bunch of sub folders, one of which is named "Presets." Inside this, you’ll find other folders, the names of which should be logical to you upon exploration.

Can you copy files from the old hard drive to the new one?

If yes, just copy your old presets files into the appropriate folders (again, by default, found inside your Photoshp "Presets" folder) on your new hard drive. Then, use the Presets Manager to load what you need into your palettes in your new Photoshop working space.

If no, you’re S.O.L.
