crop size 1200×1800 at 300

when I print [file-print w/ priview-print (without changing any settings)] a warning pops up saying that the image is larger than the media some cropping will occure. Sure enough all sides have been cropped.

I am printing on epson photo r200, color printing system v.5.40

What am I doing wrong.

My next question will be on [file-automate-picture package]. Too tired to post it today.

Why not crop to the size of the paper you intend to use?
i.e. 8" x 6" – 210 x 295 cm etc.,
1200×1800 is a pixel size and not a paper or printed image size. You should also go into page setup and make sure that is the same as your printer paper.
Finally you should check your printer settings to ensure they show the correct paper size.

1200×1800 at 300 resolution = 4×6 inches
checking the image size it does say 4×6

Yes, but your printer will only print 4 x 6 on 4 x 6 paper if you set "No Margins". Otherwise it will leave white margins and crop to fit the "Printable" space.

You should check on the fit of your image onto the paper by clicking in the box at the bottom left, (where file size or profile, etc, are shown) before going to Print.

Have you set the proper landscape/portrait setting?

Most Epson drivers’ utilities, also give the user the ability to "shrink-to- fit" the image within the "printable" boundaries of the paper chosen. Many of my Epsons, but not all, will print full-paper. PS will give me the warning, if I have chosen to print a full 8×10, regardless of whether the intended printer allows this, or not. I just have to remember to go into that printer’s utility and check "Maximum." Too bad that Epson won’t let me set THAT as the default.

I get that sometimes cause WIN assumes the margins cannot be printed. Newer printers can printer closer to the edges.
If I go into the printer dialogs I can use PRINT PREVIEW (Epson) there is a box up top and shows the actual printable area which is larger. I just override the command and let it proceed and check it in there. If it really does not fit, use the other suggestions (fit to page or reduce/enlarge in PS or printer dialogs)

sometimes I NEED to get this error because I have forgotten to set the orientation (horiz/vert) or because I haven’t selected the proper paper size.
