Hiya,

Not sure what happened .. but I had to uninstall and reinstall PS and now whatever I print is way off in color .. and many times won’t print black .. or it bands really bad .. and the thing is, printer prints everything just fine in every other program, IE: Illustrator, etc.

Any idea what I need to do to correct this?

I’m using PS 7.0

Had lots of problems with CS … that’s the reason I’m back to 7

Thanks!
Dee

Color mangement is the answer I suspect. http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ might help.

What are the problems with PSCS2. Should I stay with PS7?

check to make sure if the printer driver is ‘choosing" the color and look in the properties dialog of your printer for the advanced settings, incorrect resolution settings will give banding as you describe.
in PRINT PREVIEW is a drop down called OUTPUT
look and see if you have chosen PS or the printer to control the color

Hi Kat,

I’m a bit confused as to where you’re referring to, because I don’t see that exact setting called ‘output’ … I have a Epson Stylus Photo R200 printer …. would it look a bit different in that one?

Thanks,
Dee

look and see if you have chosen PS or the printer to control the color
FILE>PRINT WITH PREVIEW>UNDER THE IMAGE> CLICK SHOW MORE OPTIONS>OUTPUT BOX DROP DOWN >SELECT COLOR MANAGEMENT
CHECK YOUR SOURCE AND PRINT SPACE (choose your printer model here)

AFTER YOU SAY OK in this gui, another box comes up, select properties to see how your print options are set up.
In my Epson you can choose several options for color, windows icm control, none, etc.
Make sure you have selected correct paper, size, centering, highest resolution.
