In File Browser – when I hit desktop, I get "Program error" . Doesn’t show me the directories or anything – has anyone seen this and what did you do?

Thanks in advance

I don’t have such problem.
This seems most like some of your Windows shell components have problems. I guess PS accesses the Windows shell space to get all nodes and if any of the shell components work incorrectly, PS will raise some error.

If this problem is really annoying you, you may,
1, Download some spyware cleaner, check your system for spyware, 2, Also check for virus,
3, Or get some registry cleaner to check and clean the registry. But be careful, some bad designed registry tools may do harm to the registry. 4, Or just re-install your Windows.

No that doesn’t work as I have the same problem. It has nothing to do with windows but photoshop itself, whatever the problem is, it’s an odd one cuz the file browser hasn’t worked here in 2 mos, and as I write this, it’s suddenly back…….strange behaviour
