It isn’t your monitor, it M$. They’ve buggered up the image with their own compreession algorithm. You’ll also notice the image looks somewhat posterized. I spent 2 days on the phone with M$ trying to find a solution to this problem for a client who had embedded all of the images in Word files, then tossed the originals. (DUH)
Depending on which version of Word you have and the size of the image, there are 3 possible workarounds.
The first has already been mentioned.
1— Zoom in as tightly as possible and use the print screen key, then paste that capture into PS as a new layer. Trim away any ugly bits of excess screen.
or
2— if these are large images , try saving a copy of the word doc "For the Web" Create a new folder, and save the Word doc there using the Save as a Web Page command on the file menu. This will create a placeholder HTML file, and will dump out all the images on the page as images with stupid names like Image 1
or
3— If you have PowerPoint, try pasting the the images from Word to PP, resize to suit, then save the slides as png’s or Tiffs, and open those files in PS

When I try to paste a graphic from Word into my PSD, the colours change. I am using a
BENQFP767-12 flat screen.
How should I be calibrating it so I see the same colours? Is there something else I should
be doing?
Thanks
