Ok…i am totally having a brain fart here

I know how to get a photo into text by using paste into

However…i remember doing this another way using i think a layer mask. But..well..i just forget how and it is just vexing me.

It could be done with a Layer Mask, but instead, try putting the picture layer over the text layer and click on the little line between the layers to make a Clipping Group. That way your text will be totally editable and you can move either the text or the picture independently (unless the layers are linked).

That’s the most flexible way to do it. For what it’s worth, for some odd reason, what used to be called "Clipping Groups" in earlier versions are now called "Clipping Masks" in CS2. ——————

thanks edjh. You had exactly what i was looking for….but forgot to meantion holding down alt while hovering between layers…..but you got me in the right direction! (hitting f1 i was able to find the alt hint 🙂
