I am working on Win-XP family edition.
Yesterday the XP-system makes an "upgrate what’s new" (I don’t know what it fixed), and now I cannot run photoshop any more : when I start, the program load all the required tool like always, but at the end (after all brushes, polices, and so on) it terminates without saying what’s wrong.

I have try to uninstall, and then install again the soft, but the problem is still there. I have also try to change to directory where the soft is installed, but nore that action kill the bug.

IS THERE ANY Windows dll required ?

IS THERE ANY KEY TO CORRECT by regedit ?

Thanks for your help

Was this a trial version downloaded off of the Internet, by any chance?

How can I know it ? The soft was on the laptop when I have buy this laptop, and that’s why I have learn that software; how can I know if it’s a trial version ? I have modified and saved different pictures, for more or less 2 months…

In any case I am now convained, and want to buy a private version… but have to wait a little because the price is very high 😉

Sounds like a reset prefs is called for – see FAQ.

Actually, it would be odd for full PS to be pre-insalled. Are you sure it isn’t PS Elements?

Ok, I am downloading the trial version of Photoshop Elements, but here is a complementary information :
THE PROGRAM IMAGEREADY IS STILL OPERATING !!! So, why not the photoshop ?

In the meantime, it seams that all I need is included in image ready… but I would apreciate to understand

Have a nice night !!! I have still 4h23 to wait for the download running 😉

reset your photoshop prefrences by holding crtl-alt-shift and answering "yes" when it asks if you want to reset the photoshop settings.

ahh good point r_ (from the lounge)…

pierre, you are not legally allowed to run that app. i suggest you purchase the full version. aside from the good karma you’ll recieve, you’ll also be entitled to a good price on upgrades in the future.

excellent pierre. remember if you want to move up later, call you local adobe customer support as there’s a discount when you go from elements to photoshop. i think you’ll find elements easier to master anyway. when you’re ready, and if you need extra power, give adobe a call…
