Converting Type to Shape for printing…

If your printer is not editing it, why don’t you just flatten the image and "save as" a TIFF.

Nope. This begs the question, though: Why are you setting type in Photoshop for professional printing?

I need my layers intact. There are multiple versions of the file to print, with the differences being very minor (a layer hidden/unhidden here and there). I’m only sending the printer a single file, and I’d rather not have the hassle of including fonts.

If Adobe is reading this, a single "convert all type layers to shape" function would really help, in a future revision!

Have you ‘talked’ to your printer?

I merge all my graphic layers into one layer, leave the font layers as they are, save as a tiff optomised for macs as that’s what the printer uses, I’m on PC and he prints perfectly every time.
