Thanks to this group I’ve been exposed to lots of great information on how to use Photoshop.

Russell Brown has a tutorial and an updated action for adding a watermark to an image.

The action adds a "Peter Krogh Photographer" watermark to the open image.

(The action was updated since the production of the tutorial.)

How do I view the gory details of this (or any) action?

Expanding the action’s title and expanding component actions still leaves many details still hidden.

Thank you very much,

Drew Faber

What gory details are you after that don’t show in the palette?

Double click on the part of the action you want to see (or change) the settings.

I can double click and single click and still can’t see how or where "Peter Krogh photographer" is added to the image.

Is it type? Is it a Shape? Is it rasterized pixels?

You can "step through" an action by having a file open and double-clicking on each step to see what it does to the image. When the watermark appears, you’ll know.

G’Day Drew,

How do I view the gory details of this (or any) action?

Expanding the action’s title and expanding component actions still leaves many details still hidden.

Highlight the action set in the action palette.
Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (PC).
Click the arrow on the palette to get the fly-out menu.
Click on save actions.
The action set will be saved as a text file with all the parameters listed.

It is sometimes simpler to create a new set with just the specific action you are interested in as it lists the whole set information in a single text file

Fantastic!
Thank you very much.
Your instructions were right on. (Photoshop’s hints are wrong.) For other morons like me, "Highlight the action set" means highlight the action folder.
