Hi Folks,

I’m pretty new to PS – so I hope I won’t embarrass myself too much with this question.

I’m working on a photo that consists of 2 "image" layers, and several adjustment layers. 1 layer consists of a rock, the other the background (sea, hills etc).

When I display both layers I get a pretty good result, except for a thin black line – about 6 pixels wide – down a portion of one edge of the rock. Switching off the background layer, and zooming right in on the offending edge I can confirm that the issue really is some darker colored pixels.

I thought it would be a piece of cake just to zap them with the eraser – I was wrong 🙁

Problem I’m having is that as soon as I go near then with the eraser it blatently ignores me – if I cover more pixels with the eraser it’ll start erasing the rock, and moving my 6 pixel black strip into the gap. When I try isolating them with a selection the darn selection moves inwards when I start erasing.

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong here – I’m hoping to blow the image up to 30 by 20 and get it framed, but this one bit is holding me back.

Many thanks,

Cheers,

CC

Use a hard brush……

Use a hard brush……

Hardness is set at 100% – hasn’t made any difference.

make sure you have the area deselected and make sure you are in the correct layer and not working on the mask
sometimes you can use Select>color range or the wand to select the edge you need to get rid of and use Edit>clear
