Greetings,
When I click on a PS file, the program opens, but I get a blank screen. I then have to go through File/Open and Browse for the file. I’ve removed the program and re-installed, but it still does this. Any ideas?

Thanks.

No clue. You did not tell us what kind of computer you have and what operating system you are using. Nor did you tell us what version of Photoshop are you using, or anything about your computer.

Try ‘Open with’ from the right click mouse function – I had this with another program (Excel I think) it’s possibly a Windows XP thing!!

Start by deleting your prefs. Hold down ctrl, alt, and shift while Photoshop is starting.

Deleting prefs didn’t work, neither did using the right mouse button and asking for PS. I still got the PS window with no picture. David

When I installed the patch, it couldn’t find PS 7.0. It’s definately there in my Program Files/Adobe/PS 7.0 folder.
Thanks

Ah, it thinks you’re using an illegal copy of Photoshop!

The 7.0.1 patch contains a list of hacked and illegally distributed Photoshop serial numbers. If you are using a serial number on that list, the patch will not install. Because you are running Windows XP, Photoshop 7 will not work correctly without the patch.

If you are using a legal, legitimate copy of Photoshop, call Adobe technical support. Give them your serial number and they’ll be happy to help you.

If you are using an illegal bootleg copy of Photoshop, well, that’s what you get.
