Well if it were me, I’d …
1. Start with the wall as my background layer
2. Open the artwork – select it – and move it to the 1st photo
3. Erase the background of the artwork layer using a combination of
magic wand / eraser (or extract tool)
4. Select it – right click and choose free transform – transform the size shape of the writing
5. Flaten image and save when looking good.
Is this what you mean?
I haven’t tried that but the wall is not a flat wall. Imagine it as a brick wall. Will what you suggest work?
I’m not sure what you mean by "not a flat wall", but when you’re doing step 4 above, you can right-click near your sizing handles and choose options like ‘distort’ which will allow you to push/pull/alter/resize the writing so that it can be made to align with whatever perspective the wall happens to be.
Additionally, as KatWoman suggests, once you’ve got the two images aligned the way you want them, changing the opacity and blending options of the writing layer may help produce the effect you’re after.
Cheers,
