Burman Bush Nature Reserve
Durban, Morningside.

Travel along Windermere Road, turn left into Goodwin Drive and left again into Burman Bush Drive, which leads to the reserve.

This small remnant patch of coastal bush gives the visitor an opportunity to see what Durban was like when the early settlers first arrived.
This is forest in mid-city.
There is abundant bird and plant life
as well as ‘Blou Duiker’ (Blue Antelope or blue buck) as well, but the area is a thickly overgrown forest, and I came close to the small bucks but could not take photos of them before they disappeared.

I have taken all these photo’s the day before yesterday in the bush except fort he last two, which I have taken yesterday at the Botanic Gardens. But they fit here, so they landed here:-)

I guess the barbed wire is not for stopping the monkeys. 🙂

Hallo Mike,

No it’s not. We’ve got monkeys all sides of the fences here; on top of the fences (like in this photo), in the cities, in the forests, on the hills, in the bushveld, on the savannahs, in the goverment…:-)
