I apologize, as this is not a Photoshop-specific problem, but I’m hoping some knowledgeable user has an idea for me: since switching to the 3dLabs wildcat4 7110 video card, everything works great EXCEPT the print preview function of the Epson Stylus Photo printers. The Photoshop print preview is good, and the printout is good, but the Epson print preview has a cyan-colored overlay that totally distorts the image. This is happening regardless of what application I am printing from, and regardless of what type of document. 3DLabs had me update the driver, Epson had me remove and reinstall all printers and drivers. No help.

Epson has given up. They say I need to reformat and start over, that "it must be a Windows problem, and we don’t support Windowss." Seems like a drastic step (and a cop-out), since the Epson print preview is the ONLY app. w/a problem.

Has anyone else run into this?

I have a worse problem. More often than not the print preview and print have a magenta cast. Recalibrating the monitor does not help. Worse the problem is intermittent: I can preview and print several images normally then the magenta cast appears and printing is impossible. In fact that very thing just happened: two images printed normally then the magenta cast appeared and I can no longer print.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled everything but the problem persists. It has to be due to a bug in how Photoshop interprets the monitor profile and intermittently corrupts the monitor profile. However Adobe has never responded to emails about this.

My experience with the Epson print preview was the same. The color tended to be oversaturated and typically a magenta cast. As I normally use the PS print preview anyway, I just ignored the Epson problem. The prints came out perfect with the Epson, just a lousy preview. Epson’s technical support turned out to be exactly wrong on printer and scanner issues that I raised. I would not do any serious reconfiguration of my system based on Epson’s advice.
