Tried to do a search on this and got: Function not found, so…
Has anyone experimented with any of the Reg Keys in the Goodies\Optional Plug-Ins\Photoshop Only\Optional Extensions folder on the CS CD? Specifically, in my continuing quest to make CS user friendly, I tried the Disable Scratch Compression Registry Key and the Use Async Scratch Registry Key. Both of these should improve scratch performance according to the Registry Keys Readme file. The jury is still out. After a few moments of use, I got an Unable to write to scratch disk error (or words to that effect). That error, by the way, is unrecoverable. Good thing I was just hacking around and not doing any real work. I closed Photoshop and reopened it and worked for awhile without incident, but I’m kind of spooked by my first brush with Spectre of Instant Death.
Anyone have any experience with these extensions?
Thanks.
