Four very important questions (at least
important for me:-)

I think I am doing colour correction X 2
because I (think I) am doing the same things
double but in different ways.

First I slide the input sliders on the Levels Tool
inwards towards (but usually not up to) the
ends of the histogram.
Afterwards I CTRL/M and do contrast in the
Curves tool (again!), (but this, have a considerable
positive effect :-). Should I not get along with
only one of these functions?
If contrast can be done in the levels Tool,
it will for many people be much easier.
On the other hand, why not leaving the sliders
where they are and only move to the Curve dialogue?
*Or* is it not the same?

Secondly in the Levels Tool, I am in the habit
of clicking on the shadow eyedropper icon and
set a brightness setting of 5%. I also click on
the highlight icon en set the setting on 95%.
This I do if there is lots of dark and white colours
in my pictures, which is usually the case with
white foam on waves, white birds and dark coloured sea life.

*But* by then I have already taken input sliders
to 11 & 243.
Have I not made the white point only 90%
and the black 10% then?

A third question is: If I do the said 5% & 95%
settings, and close the Levels Tool in order to
open the Curve Tool, PS ask whether the new
settings should be the new default settings.
If I say ‘no’, is the settings still applicable on
the photo I am working on?

And no. four, if holding alt down when sliding the
input sliders inwards on the Levels Tool, and the
a colour start showing long before reaching the
ends of the histogram, what does it say?
