Hi, I need to perform some batch processing on my images, and I cannot figure out how to get it done the way I want. I need to save the image with a different filename and then save a thumbnail of the image with the original filename. I have had success setting up 2 actions and getting these to work, but I would like to run the whole process as a single action. The help file for PS says I can nest actions together to do what I want, but I cannot seem to get it to do it. Can someone tell me how to nest actions in PS CS, or direct me to a tutorial that will help me get this done?

Thanks for your help,

–Ridge

Ridge,

Start by getting out of button mode, if you’re in it. Then select (click on) your "top level" action. Hit the ‘start recording’ button at the bottom of the actions pallette. Click on your "subordinate level" action, hit the ‘play’ button, hit the ‘stop recording’ button. Expand your original action, and the second action should be nested at the bottom.

Alternately, youy can create a new action, hit record, play your first action, play your second action, then stop recording. This will give you the option of playing each separately, or both together with a single keystroke. Whatever works for you.
