Hi everyone – thanks for reading….

A couple of hours ago, a strange problem started happening and has been happening since. I have a document open with a background, a couple of layers and then I add a text layer. When I select the text layer and go to move it, the layer that is selected jumps to the background layer for some reason. All I have to do is select the text layer, then click the mouse button down and bingo – right to the background layer. Has anyone had this problem? or know how to fix it?

Thanks so much!
Shelly

Hi Shelly,

Click on the move tool., and un-check the Auto Select Layer box.

Auto Select causes the selected layer to change, based on where you click. If you want to try out this feature, click directly on the type, and the text layer will be selected.

Make sure the "auto select layer" box on the context sensitive menu at the top is unchecked.
