create a rounded rectangle path by using the shape tool and selecting "paths" on the option bar. then in the paths palette select "change path to selection"

In PS6 there is a rounded rectangle tool… only I haven’t managed to figure out how to change the radius / diameter of the actual curve. It seems to be a fixed setting.

If anyone can tell ME how to do it I would be grateful.

Using the Marquee tool, make a rectangular selection.
The go to the menu…
Select – Modify – Smooth
A dialog box will pop up, enter a value in the box. You may have to experiment to get the radius you want.
