Coming from a second-hand book store on would guess Photoshop 4, particularly since Elements 4 just came out.

PS 4 just isn’t worth using! the product only started to be a real good tool at 5.5 IMHO

I mean Photoshop 4.

I actually have the Adobe CS suite which includes Photoshop whatever but I am slightly better than a novice user (somewhere close to intermediate) and a few years ago I worked at a place which had Photoshop 4 Wow in their library. I found it to be really handy in getting to grips with some of the concepts I find difficult to learn.

I did the same and they were *very* helpful. I’d bought the book and then lent it to someone who actually broke the damn CD in half somehow! When he returned the book sans CD he said he couldn’t find the pieces and seemed surprised I was upset.

I was wondering if anyone could help me on this.

If you want to send me your address I’d be willing to mail you a copy of the CD. I don’t think I’ll get in trouble since it’s not very helpful unless you already own the book. If anyone disagrees I’d be interested in hearing about it.

You will not likely get into trouble for this act of generosity, however, and there’s always a however… technically it would be illegal and Peachpit would not like that. But the book is out-of-print and Peachpit has no intention of trying to make further sales of it or the CD so If they found out they would do nothing.

Jack Davis’ WoW books (and CDs) do little to teach concepts. They do the whole process for you. To create layer styles such as theirs would require a ton of skill and a lot of time. I use it with Elements and find it a lot of fun. But there is no way I would be able to reproduce what Davis does.

Cheers Lee O.

BTW, I applaud your generosity.

That’s sorta what I thought.

You may have a point, but I must say the book at least made me aware of things that could be done if one wished to learn how.

Well, it’s not like it’ll cost me anything more than a blank CD and some postage. Actually, that reminds me of another mailing I have to make.

Hey dvus,

No matter how much we learn about Photoshop, there is always more to learn.

Hi dvus,

I have been in touch with Peachpit and they are not able to help me. So I would appreciate you offer. I will email you at the above email address (assuming it’s "live"). If I do not hear from you at that address, I will post an email address in a few day that you can contact me on.
