Whenever I launch Elements 3 on my iMac (whether with an image or just opening the app) after 10-20 seconds, I get the following error:

"Could not complete your request because the file is locked. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the finder to unlock the file"

HUH??? There isn’t any file open! Tried deleting the prefs, but no love…

Ideas???? Tried repairing permissions, etc. without any luck. Running 10.4.3 with all Apple updates…

Thanks!

Adam

Try highlighting the application icon for Photo Elements without opening the program. Then go to the file menu and down to Get Info. Double click Get Info to open the information file about Photo Elements.

Under General (expanded) and just above Name & Extension there is a little box named Locked. That box might be checked.

I do not know how it works from there as the lock box in my Photo Elements info file is grayed out. Maybe you just have to uncheck the lock box but I suspect it all has something to do with those permissions.

Turns out that I was able to dig some info out of Adobe’s KB…the problem does indeed reside in a permissions problem, and once changed to give permissions to admin user, all is well…no further problems!

Thanks for the response!
