Hey Borg,

This may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but give it a shot.

Issue number 16 of Adobe Photoshop "Focus Guide" by Future publishing in the UK is all about modern art. It has a mini-tutorial on Warhol techniques, as well as Miro, Matisse, Modrian and others. The magazine cost me $15 US at Borders (perhaps a special order) or you can order back issues from their website.

www.thefuturenetwork.plc.uk -or-

www.futurenet.com/adobephotoshopfocusguide

Their magazine comes with a CD, issue 16 has tutorials, brushes, layer styles, filters and more.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Lee O.

You don’t need a plug-in. Try image>adjustments>posterize and then use the up and down arrows to select a number of colors between 3 and 7 that looks best in the preview. If you see too much detail in the preview of that adjustment, cancel out that and first apply filter>blur>guassian blur and adjust it to make the image fuzzy before you posterize.

That should get you a long way toward Warhol Land. If you want more you might try adding filter>artistic>cutout or filter>artistic>poster edges or perhaps even apply the poster edges one after the cutout one. It is easy to make a photograph look like something out of a comic book in Photoshop.

If you want to try for the style of some other painters you might try posterizing with more colors and/or then using other "artistic" filters.

Its more gray scale ‘paint by number’ look that a Warhol style but I’ll give it a go. I need defined edges of colour though and most of the filters tend to blend the edges in.
